KRED prides itself on employing a diverse range of people with local knowledge and a passion for securing the best economic development and business outcomes for Traditional Owners in the Kimberley region.

As of November 2023 we employ 21 fulltime staff, with Aboriginal employment at 40%.

Chairperson of Ambooriny Burru - Gordon Marshall
Gordon Marshall is a Traditional Owner of the Karajarri community. He has worked with Main Roads Western Australia, served as an Aboriginal police liaison officer, and also worked on cattle stations across the Kimberley region in mustering and fencing. In 1972, he served in the National Service. Currently, Gordon hosts a radio program every Saturday on 6DBY, which is broadcast nationwide.

Chairperson of KRED Enterprises - Rowena Mouda

Rowena has served on several boards over the past 20 years, including as Chairperson and Acting CEO of Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation, Chairperson of Mayala Inninalang Aboriginal Corporation, and Ardyaloon Inc., One Arm Point. Rowena is a member of the Aboriginal Lands Trust and is a councillor for the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley. Rowena is committed to developing strong, inclusive communities with economic growth. She is actively involved with her community and has a passion for the development of children in the Kimberley region.

Director of KRED Enterprises - Sarah Parriman

Sarah, a proud Jabirr Jabirr and Yawuru woman from the Kimberley, is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal advancement, self-determination, and decision-making.  Having spent nearly 20 years working with the Kimberley Land Council, currently as the Deputy CEO, Sarah believes that Aboriginal people can achieve self-determination by leveraging their native title rights and interests through both economic and social mechanisms.  Aboriginal people and communities need to have the ability to choose how best to govern and enrich their own lives. Great things can be achieved when our people and communities are involved in decision-making and driving change.

Sarah was recognised for her contributions to Indigenous Affairs as the award recipient of the 2022 Kullarri NAIDOC Award for Contribution to Indigenous Affairs.

With her own career and experience benefiting from the support of her family and mentoring from strong Kimberley Aboriginal leaders she has worked alongside, Sarah is committed to empowering others, particularly young Aboriginal women, and finds genuine fulfilment in the success of those around her.

Director of KRED Enterprises and Ambooriny Burru - Jim Hughes AM, GAICD, Snr Assoc ANZIIF

Jim has extensive experience in the financial service industries, where he has held senior management positions for over 40 years. He has been a director of eleven successful companies during this period in both the commercial arena and the not-for-profit sectors.

He has been a director of the Ambooriny Burru Foundation Charitable Trust and KRED Group since 2015. He is also a member of the advisory board for the University of Technology, Sydney. He is a past inaugural director of Youi Insurance and a past National Chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. He is also an appointed National Patron of the Apex Foundation and is a Life Governor of the Apex Clubs of Australia.

In January 2012, Jim was awarded the ‘Member of the Order of Australia AM’ for services to the insurance industry, the Apex Clubs of Australia, the advancement of men’s health, and support for the arts.

Chief Executive Officer and Director of KRED Enterprises - Damien Parriman
Damien, a proud Yawuru and Jabirr Jabirr man from the Kimberley in Western Australia, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of KRED Enterprises and Arma Legal. With over 19 years of experience in Native Title, Damien has managed various Aboriginal corporations and organisations in the Kimberley.

Chief Operating Officer - Merrilee Williams
Merrilee is a proud Bardi and Yawuru woman, born and raised in Broome, Western Australia, who contributes a wealth of over 25 years’ experience and knowledge from successfully and tirelessly working within the not-for-profit, self-employed, private, and Aboriginal corporate sectors. Having created a solid network of trust and respect throughout the vast Kimberley region, Merrilee’s passion for protecting members’ cultural values and empowering the prosperity of the Kimberley Aboriginal community has gained her positive and professional relationships with both Traditional Owners and internal and external stakeholders. With an unceded commitment to the well-being of Country, Culture, Community, and connections, through her previously held roles with peak Aboriginal organisations and private businesses, Merrilee’s experience and success in supporting strategic planning, operational outcomes, and project coordination are both a valued and vital contribution in her role as COO of KRED Enterprises.

Chief Financial Officer and Director of KRED Enterprises - Jodie Pincini
Jodie has over 25 years’ pre and post admission experience as a Chartered Accountant.  She has been part of the KRED team for 6 years and has acted as a director for the past 4 years.  She has 18 years’ experience working with Kimberley Indigenous Corporations, initially as the founding CEO of KdoubleA, an Aboriginal-owned and operated accounting and bookkeeping service in Broome. Jodie loves working for KRED because every day is different. She says she's constantly learning from the amazing women around her. Traditional accounting roles don't offer the same inspiration and challenge as accounting for KRED!

Managing Practitioner Director - Hema Hariharan

Hema has worked as a lawyer for over 17 years in New South Wales and Western Australia. Previously the Manager of the Strategic Development Unit at NTSCORP, Sydney, Hema worked with a multi-disciplinary team of lawyers, tenure specialists and researchers to deliver social and economic benefits to the Aboriginal people. At the forefront of Hema’s approach is an emphasis on collaborating with native title holders and other Aboriginal groups to achieve their social, cultural and economic aspirations. Hema has been recognised by 2022 & 2021 Doyle’s Guide of Leading Australia Native Title Lawyers in Traditional Ownership representation.

Manager, Economic Development - Elise Pendlebury

Elise is an experienced economic development professional with more than 10 years’ experience working with First Nation and Aboriginal corporations in Australia and Canada. She has worked with development corporations, communities and private businesses to achieve strong economic and social outcomes. Elise is also a certified engagement professional, project manager and experienced strategic planner.
