Wala Koorl-bi Family Home
A dedicated space for families to connect with young people in the Marlamanu program.
-
The Family Home is an important part of the Wala Koorl-bi model, creating a dedicated space for families to spend time with young people participating in the Marlamanu program.
Family involvement is part of Marlamanu’s holistic approach, helping young people maintain and strengthen family connections while participating in the residential On-Country program.
Funding secured through the Paul Ramsay Foundation supported construction of the Family Home as well as family travel and evaluation of this component of the program.
-
KRED secured philanthropic funding through the Paul Ramsay Foundation to bring the Family Home component of Wala Koorl-bi to life.
The funding provided dedicated support for an important part of the wider Marlamanu model that was not funded through the main government-supported development.
The project demonstrates KRED’s ability to identify funding gaps, develop a compelling case for support and secure philanthropic investment for First Nations-led initiatives.
